Jack, is this the same old story you talked about over a year ago ("recent?")? Once again, Jackass, retake your driver's license test and pay close attention to the part that says, "YIELD TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES!" That means stop and pull over if you see the pretty flashing blue and red lights that are sometimes accompanied with wig-wags (alternating flashing headlights) and/or loud wailing siren.

It's not up to you to decide that a particular law enforcement agency isn't justified in making a traffic stop. Pay attention and get out of the way. But you are probably the same annoying driver that parks in the fast lane keeping pace with the semi, backing up traffic for 20 miles. Or worse, you are elderly with limited vision and reflexes and will be the driver of the next accident where your car takes out 8 people at a corner bus stop.

Maybe their motive is something else? All 3 police agencies claim they do not do high-speed chases. Ever.

Which is a joke here in Santa Cruz County. The most recent high-speed chase happened near a school and caused an accident. Some local folks were run off the road by the BP when its SUV attempted to pass a pick-up loaded with migrants.

By the way, their prohibiting you from photographing is illegal.

The Feds on this side will not allow their officers to be photographed either. I had DPS, Border Patrol, County Mounties all try to run me off sites where vehicles have been run off the road or stopped by other than routine "traffic stop" methods. I think they all understand that they are dealing with individuals who more often than not are under the influence of meth or other substances and are therefore most irrational as are their associates.

Some little bastard from Indonesia, apparently. But my Web-Goddess worked right around it and got me back online in minutes.
She also set up some new opportunities for people, including a News Tip hotline, Advertising access, that handy little RSS feed and a way for you readers to post these stories on social networking sites.
Don't be afraid to use those either. One of the best ways to support this Web site is to spread the page around, get it going viral.
