Chismes: Who Was Really Behind the Murder of Chapo Guzmán’s Son?

You hear a lot of rumors along the border, this place is rife with them. Usually, you blow them off – until you hear the same things being said by very different people.
The latest chisme is that Ismael “Mayo” Zambada ordered the killing of Joaquín “Shorty” Guzmán’s son, Edgar.
Edgar was murdered in a massive attack outside a Culiacán, Sinaloa, shopping mall, May 2008. The young narco-prince died where he fell, along with Mario Antonio Meza, the son of Mayo’s former girlfriend and cartel money-launderer, Blanca Margarita Cázarez Salazar, “La Emperatriz.”
Everybody believed the Beltrán Leyva family was behind the hit.
But now, it’s being said that Mayo Zambada ordered the killing of Chapo’s son.
It’s a crazy rumor, to be sure, because if it is true then it changes the dynamic of the entire cartel war. But I’ve heard it from Phoenix, from Tijuana and a short while ago, a comment was posted to BorderReporter stating the same thing.
If it is true, then the Sinaloan Federation is broken and it’s been broken for nearly a year now, if not longer.
Mexico, always virulent, became perceptibly deadlier since the arrest of Alfredo Beltrán, El Mochomo, last January. Mochomo was betrayed, it is said, by the Sinaloans.
The logical thinking was that Edgar’s murder was a vengeance hit for that arrest. And that still may be true, I don’t know. But if Mayo was the one who ordered his killing, then the Federation, headed by Mayo and Chapo, likely no longer exists.
And if that is true, then it means the Carrillo family is not warring against Mayo and Chapo in Juárez, it is warring one or the other.
So, all eyes back to Culiacán for a while. Chismes like this one don’t just surface for no reason. And they’re not ignored. Something tells me we’re going to find out who is whose side, very, very soon.

Makes a bit sense….. Your on the kingpin act and nobody is doing business with you because the United States has a list of your money laundering trail and your partner Chapo is too hot. Get new people in line under the radar, take him out and severe your relationship with your money mover but take her out also as soon as you have someone who can take charge and is capable of moving large quantaties of cash.

this has been known since the killing…arturo posted a banner asking el chapo to investigate….el mayo needed to put all eyes on arturo & el chapo so his brother rey could continue unloading tons of coke & ephedrine in mexico city….we all know how that turned out….hahahahah…mr.whiteboots is the new supreme leader…juarez, sonora & mexicali are all his plazas… if you don’t know no you know…

This is more than a rumor. It also makes sense why weapons from this side of the border are heading south by the truck load. I heard some information from south of the border saying that there is peace between Juarez and someone in Sinoloa. The border is starting to flow like normal with green product. However, the price of coke is a lot higher than in years past. I have a funnny feeling that the violence in the Sinola area is gonna get really ugly. And with the recent arrests of top ranking law enforcement officials in Mexico City, for favoring the Sinolans, things are getting down right ugly. Furthermore, The Gulf Cartel is not going down without a fight. The uglyness in Mexico will get a lot worse before it gets better.

Could of been zetas,juarez or ?Why chapo did not have him protected 24/7 well……why he did not protect him self…….where a vest or get or take a trip……..
