THE BORDER REPORT

Events in Sonora have been dwarfed by news of a fire at a daycare center that killed anywhere from 10 to 14 infants a few minutes ago in Hermosillo. I’m not going to have anything that the Sonoran media won’t already have on this tragedy. El Imparcial is updating, as is Radio Los Cheros if you can get their media player to work.

Meanwhile, the Sonorans captured two or three of the guys accused in the murder of 11 people found yesterday morning. Nine of the bodies had been hacked up, I don’t know how many were decapitated. Cops are saying they found a couple grenades in the car when they popped the killers.

A colleague attending the PISA meeting in Tucson today had a chance to interview a Federal Preventative Police commander about the events in Caborca. The message is the same as ever, nothing to worry about, this was a conflict between families, he said.

We’ll just have to wait for the family reunion …

  1. “el chapo” bours said that those killings had to do with two groups fighting over la plaza, he didn’t mentioned anything about “family matters” , pero bueno, nobody believes (or cares) about what that guys says…

  3. it looks like the narcos in tijuana are trying to make this day “decapitation day” they found another two and counting, and by the way things are painting, it will get worst, they captured a big fish at the baja 500 racing event, but los sandias don’t want to say who this guy is, lots of tension in tijuana right now.
