Just came across a year old CISEN report on the Beltrán Leyvas:
“Los hermanos Alfredo, Amberto y Carlos Beltrán Leyva utilizan los seudónimos “Arturo”, “Marco Arturo” y “Arturo de Culiacán”, bajo los cuales son buscados por la DEA por la introducción de droga a Estados Unidos a través de aviones …. “
Really? Alfredo, Amberto and Carlos are known as Arturo, Marco Arturo and Arturo de Culiacán? So who’s Amberto and is Carlos, Botas Blancas or isn’t he?

Arturo Beltran Leyva is also known as “Arturo El De Culiacan”, as the corrido goes by Chuy Vega Y Sus Nuevos Cadetes. This guy Chuy Vega used to perform for him at many private functions across all of Mexico. He’s also known as “El Catan de Recodo”, another corrido from Chuy Vega. Arturos’ people once even loaded him up in a private helicopter and flew him to the high sierra (blindfoled for about 30 minutes) to thrown a lavish party for his workers. They played 18 hours with very lil rest with no PA system, it was all “unplugged” with no speakers or microphones… How do I know this? Chuy recorded for my label back in 95… He recorded both songs in two different albums… one in 95, and the other in 96…

QUICK UPDATE: on the racist motherf&%#rs that killed that innocent lil 9 year old girl and her father just a miles from the border… the state is seeking the death penalty for all 3 of them.., they have declared themselves not guilty… but with all of the evidence points to these low-life bags of walking human turds on legs…

Another twist in this crazy story. Rumor had it that the Beltran-Leyva were hooking up with the Arellano-Felix which is weird since the Sinaloa Group was backing El Teo when he was fighting El Ingeniero. Teo just lost one of his top guys (El Neto) over the weekend & is no longer receiving money or weapons from the Sinaloa Group.
P.S. In the corrido “El Cartel De Los Cielos”, they refer to Amado Carrillo Fuentes as “El Catan De Recodo” is that a title now that anyone can take or is there a mix up with corridos here?

the Beltran Leyva brothers are not part of the cartel de sinaloa or del pacifico anymore, they are simply, the Beltran Leyva brothers cartel…in a corrido dedicated to Osiel Cardenas, they also refer to him as el catan de recodo, i guess anybody who is considered by the authorities a big fish, can be also refered to as catan.
