THE BORDER REPORT
Arturo Beltran Leyva, the charismatic rising cartel figure of Mexico’s narco wars was killed a few minutes ago in a gunbattle with the Mexican Navy in Cuernavaca.
Reports from sources within the Mexican Federal Attorney General’s Office state that El Barbie, Edgar Valdez Villarreal, had been arrested at the scene. Those reports are now unconfirmed. Also the rumor that Beltran’s brother, Mario, was one of those killed tonight. A third had allegedly committed suicide. Milenio is reporting seven dead total.
The power move in northern Mexico sounds like it’s already begun. Nogales erupted about 11:10 tonight with at least ten gunshots throughout the city. NOTE, another source is telling me it’s a celebration not a gunfight. Chapo’s people, I presume.
“A stray bullet injured a little girl but it’s all about the celebration,” a friend said. “It’s a posada, man.”
Sources at Justice say that Arturo was almost captured at a party a few nights ago when the Navy arrested Ramon Ayala. No idea if Arturo had been at the party but my guys at Justice insist he left shortly ahead of the Navy’s arrival.

Where’s the Army in all this? Why is the Marina moving on Arturo Beltran and not SEDENA?
Locally, along the Arizona border, this has just created a power vacuum in Sonoyta, Nogales and Agua Prieta.
Nationally, the Juarez Cartel and the Zetas in Tamaulipas and Coahuila just lost their most powerful ally and we all know what means:

Even if the Navy is not as corrupt as you say, why are they doing raids in the city? That smells of corruption. DGO, that does not make sense. These guys aare being systematically murdered, but Mexico’s power house is still moving freely. Almost reeks of a hit.??????????? El Universal is saying that the reason the Navy was used is that they are trained to rappel down from helicopters and, in this instance, that is how they gained access to the apartment compound.

If any of the military outfits wanted him bad enough, they would have had them. This smells like a hit. Mexico corruption is like this, are they not? Why use navel personel in the city. Because the Navy are better equipped. It was in residential compound and they needed to use the naval helicopters to rappel down into the compound.

Well last week there was a narco party and they found that it was Arturo Beltran and his crew who were throwing the big party, since then they knew he was in the area and were looking for them. As for who was ordering the capture, comes from high above the chain. They used to be allies with el chapo guzman and el mayo zambada who are leaders of the sinaloa cartel, but since the rupture occurred between them it has been nothing but severed heads, slaughtered bodies. Arturo was the one ordering killings in Sinaloa that worked with chapo n mayo. We all know Chapo and Mayo are protected by the mexican government. Just like they did with arturo, they could do the same to el chapo, but he has money, lots of it..

los guachos (ejermex) are under investigation because the gobernment found out that they are working with mayo in money laundry operations, that’s why calderon wa reluctant to send them to carry out that operation, they are already infected with the “dollar flu”, mayo has several accounts with different names in the BANJERCITO, which is the mexican army’s bank.
I heard that about that bank as well…if there is a raid needing to take place on a high level target/ possible hostage situation type deal, the US government would use Marines or SEALs.

El Chapo spends a lot of time in the mountains, ask the Russians and the US military how hard it is to fight in the mountains. Arturo it seems he liked to rub elbows with the wealthy in Mexico. In my opinion it was a stupid thing to hang in San Pedro and Cuernavaca, and then kill your own people to please the those people in San Pedro. And to actually stay in Morelos even after the Marina raided an earlier party, which they captured 11 guys that most likely talked, well that was retarded. Like I said Arturo has his head stuck in the past, this ain’t the 1980s, what the fuck was he doing in the state after they already knew the navy was in town looking for him.
To me Arturo killing his own people and then making it public like he did showed his weakness and vulnerability. He was looking for friends and now he is dead.
One wonders what will happens to zetas he was helping sneak into Sinaloa.

Arturo and the zetas are a bunch of thieves and did more harm than any other cartel in mexico…One thing I noticed here in the last couple months is Zetas or people with Arturo going down everywhere like in Durango,Monterey,and now even Cuernava..I know for a fact that they stuck their head way too deep in Durango and got pushed out fast from the northern part Santa maria del oro,Tepehuanes, and Guanacevi now in the last couple months they had been tryin the to get in threw the southern part threw Topia and Pueblo Nuevo also Cuencame but this requires gettin in threw Sinaloa as opposed to Chiuahua…Let me remind you guys that the Southwestern part of Durango is Coronel’s turf And the Northern part is now mostly controled by Shorty with some oposition in Tepehuanes and Santiago Papasqiaro but shorty has his faithful crew of Los Mingos all over that part of the state run by El RR o el R1..In santa maria the only people that where allinged with the Beltrans where the Pizzaro fam wich hasnt been heard off in months and being subdued by the Mingos…At one point just about the hole state was Juarez but threw out the last couple of years and all the blood shed things have changed.
Its much easier to shoot your way through a road block than allowing yourself to be surrounded where you have no chance in hell of surviving.
Like you said you just knew his men were going to talk, then he goes and hides in a safe house they knew about. When they take your men you should assume that its not safe for you around that area.
Beltran Leyva’s have committed some really terrible acts. The Zetas, the gulf crew and ABL are losing more ground everyday. A lot of this senseless violence will continue until order is established. It looks like Chapo and Mayo are only gaining ground. Since Amado died, El Mayo and Chapo have gained support of a lot of the Juarez’ ground. It’s gonna be hard to unseat the powerhouse that is now in place. Hopefully some of the violence will end soon.

Chapo an the Beltran bros are second generation cousins and if you look into it most if not all these people out of Sinaloa are related..Did you guys know that Vicente Fox’s wife is also related to Chapo and that Chapo married Nacho Coronels 18 yr old niece..This guy is very well conected and seems to be involved with everybody and their mother..But seriously I still think Mayo is the one making the moves and Chapo is his puppet without Chapo even knowing..Mayo is the only guy out of all these people that has never been touched and is now 62 yrs old..I can almost say that Chapo has a better chance than Mayo at getting cought because he is wanted more by the US.
