@ Nadien,

Thank you for your response. It is an american wedding taking place in Puerto Penasco. I only know the few friends that will be making the trip to see our friend get married. We are driving in during the day, but I worry about getting pulled over or stopped. I have traveled to Puerto Penasco many times but in previous years when the shootings were not taking place as often. Do you think we will be okay driving in and staying at a resort for the wedding, or are those areas just as dangerous? Thank you for your response.

M. B. It depends on a couple things, who's wedding it is, there have been cases where people have been killed at weddings. It depends on who you are, it depends who you know or spend time with and who knows that. I would say if you have no ties to any burreros, polleros, bajadores, or anybody involved in narco traffic, you will be fine. I wouldn't drive down there in an extremely flashy car, and I would use common sense that you would use when traveling anywhere. If you feel scared you will show it, people will notice and that could make you problems. Always be aware of your surroundings and who is around you. Know your people and what they do, or at least try to. But if it's a normal wedding, normal people, there is a 99.9 % chance you will be fine. You almost always do better talking little and listening more even with people you know, and when you do talk be polite and respectful. I believe other posters here will agree with what I have said.
