THE BORDER REPORT
This site has generated quite a bit of traffic in the past few days and I want to thank you for visiting the site.
I'm just going to share a little about myself with you and then get right back to the border news.
My name is Michael Marizco, I'm a border reporter on the Arizona-Sonora line. I started this Web site a little more than a year ago because it seemed utterly dangerous and somewhat foolish that more media weren't dedicating resources to this, arguably the most contentious slice of the border.
It's home to a significant portion of illegal immigration; in recent years, Sonora has become infested with migrant smugglers. The most powerful drug cartel in the world, the Sinaloa Federation, uses this border to hustle in a large percentage of our narcotics.
I receive no money for this Web site, like your ususal blog.
But I try to do things a little differently at The Border Report. I approach the border news with the same ethical standards as any newspaper. Frankly, this stuff ain't rocket science; the ethical standards aren't hard to reach.
Quite simply, I tell the truth and I try to tell a good story.
