Shadow Wolves Mourn One of Their Own

This came in tonight from a former member of the Shadow Wolves, the elite Native American trackers of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On Saturday morning, May 5, 2007, retired United States Customs Patrol Officer Floyd R. Garcia, of Sells, Arizona passed away. Floyd was one of the original members of the elite and nationally recognized “Shadow Wolvesâ€, retiring in 1994. Prior to his service with the Shadow Wolves, Floyd worked as a Police Officer for the Tohono O’Odham Tribal Police from 1969 to 1974. Floyd spent 20 more years as a Customs Patrol Officer assigned to Sells Office of Investigations. Many of these years, Floyd spent teaching the gift of tracking and narcotic investigations to new Customs Patrol Officers. Floyd is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, daughters Donna, Lydia, Rachel and son Alex, 14 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. His son, Floyd Garcia Jr., passed away in 2006. Floyd will be truly missed by his family and his many friends in law enforcement around the state and nation. Wake services will be held at the Assembly of God Church, located on Highway 86 in Sells, Arizona. Funeral will began at 6:00 am with burial to follow at the Presbyterian cemetery in Sells.
