AN OPEN LETTER TO KVOA-NEWS 4, TUCSON

This is a letter sent to KVOA this morning from an old contact living in southern Arizona, retired U.S. Border Patrol agent David Stoddard. Stoddard and I tend to disagree when it comes to illegal immigration solutions, but I thought his argument today was compelling. One question that goes unanswered, both by the media and the police, is how much marijuana the kid was carrying. Which is somewhat useless since it would help us form better opinions. A shot of Bacanora to anybody who comes up with the answer. Sir: I watched KVOA's coverage of the illegal alien kid who was caught at Catalina High School with marijuana in his backpack. Why was the kid going to school with marijuana? It was not so he could smoke it in the classroom, it was because he was selling it to other kids in the school. The Tucson PD did the right thing turning him over to the Border Patrol. So what if his family are also illegal? That means that the whole family was leeching off American taxpayers. So what if they all were deported? Good riddance! It is sad that the other kids left the classroom to "march" in support of the illegal alien kid. They all should be suspended for the unauthorized absence from the school. It sickens me that school officials are trying to placate those ignorant kids who walked out. They are probably the little marijuana dealer's customers at the school. Why did the reporter say that 100 kids walked out? Look at the footage again and you'll see that it was probably less that half that number. All of them acted like potheads sympathetic to lawlessness. Would KVOA run the same type of sympathetic coverage if the little illegal alien were caught with cocaine at the school? Or a gun? Schools are for learning and any kid that uses that school to deal marijuana or any other illegal activity should be prosecuted and then deported if he or she is illegal. Kudos to the Border Patrol and kudos to the Tucson PD. Shame on KVOA for making a victim out of the little pot dealer and his supporters. Dave Stoddard Have an idea for a guest commentary?
