Did two of Mexico's strongest cartel leaders hold a meeting just south of the Arizona border last week? That's what being said in certain company.

Those in the know say Sinaloa boss Joaquín "Shorty" Guzmán and Guadalajara Cartel leader Nacho Coronel Villarreal, paid a visit to the border, holding a meeting southside, in Sonoyta, Sonora, just across from Lukeville, Ariz.

An agreement was hammered out with some of the Sonora-to-Phoenix traffickers who prefer using Highway 85 to shoot north.

Son muchos los rumores que se escuchan en esta frontera. Normalmente uno no les presta mucha atención, hasta que comienzan a escucharse las mismas cosas dichas por diferentes personas.

El chisme más reciente dice que Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada fue quien ordenó la ejecución de Édgar, el hijo de Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.

Edgar fue asesinado en un ataque masivo ocurrido en mayo del 2008 en el estacionamiento de una plaza comercial en Culiacán. El joven narco-príncipe murió ahí mismo, junto con un hijo de Blanca Margarita Cázares Salazar, alias La Emperatriz, quien fue novia de "El Mayo" y una de las principales operadoras en el lavado de dinero para el cártel de la Federación en Sinaloa.

There was a very ... interesting suicide attempt last night in State Prison Two, in Nogales, Sonora. I'm still working on the details but preliminary information suggests this Castro/Enriquez figure arrested last week. Hubo un intento de suicido muy interesante en el CERESO Dos de Nogales, Sonora, anoche. No la tengo confirmado todavía per se sugiere que fue el Hugo Castro/Wilfrido Enriquez personaje quien fue detenido la semana pasada. Ando confirmando unos datos mas pero si quieren soltar algo ... pues, aqui estamos a sus ordenes.

Sources on both sides are saying Francisco Hernandez García, aka El Dos Mil, was captured by the Mexican Army day before yesterday in Hermosillo. Hernandez, the intellectual author of some very, very interesting hits in Sonora going back at least eight years was also blamed for engineering the 2007 attacks in Cananea that left 24 people dead. After the death of his compadre, Raul Enriquez Parra in 2005, the Cananea-born narco-trafficker was picked up by the Beltrán Leyva family back when Mochomo controlled the Nogales and Naco corridors. Afterward, he linked himself to the Gulf Cartel, smashing a pacto between the Sinaloans and the Gulf cartels in 2007.
